OUR ELC 1 STUDENTS GOT TO KNOW THE CAPTAINCY PROFESSION 15.01.2025

Our ELC 1 students continued to learn about various professions within the scope of the unit “The Time and Space We Are In”. In this process, they made a detailed presentation with Captain Emrah Akça from the General Directorate of Coastal Safety on the subject of captainship, one of the professions that interested them the most. Mr. Emrah introduced the captain's profession and daily work to our students and shared important information about the tools and equipment used in maritime. During the presentation, questions such as “Who is a captain?”, “Where does a captain work?” and “Which tools and equipment are needed in maritime?” were clarified. In addition, the purposes and functions of commonly used maritime equipment such as maps, binoculars and compasses were explained. With this information, our students gained a broad understanding of the profession. At the end of the presentation, our students asked the questions they were curious about and gained more in-depth knowledge about their profession with the answers they received from our captain. We thanked Captain Emrah Akça for this pleasant and instructive experience.
