TRIP TO CANAKKALE 05.10.2018

The Dardanelles (Canakkale) Strait has witnessed various events and hosted many civilizations since the ancient times. The Battle of Gallipoli (Canakkale), on the other hand, is a heroic saga which was written by a nation who fought to gain its right to live. This history-changing battle, which also had an important role in the World War I, should be well-known and appreciated by us. Enemy fleets, which arrived at Canakkale, encountered a fierce Turkish resistance that hampered the success of the invasion. The duty of our soldiers and commanders, who sacrificed their lives to protect our country, is over now; however our duty continues. Canakkale trip was organized for Grade 9 students to help them understand and embrace their own history and culture. While learning their history and cultural values, our Grade 9 students enjoyed learning and travelling at the same time.
