MATHEMATICS MODELLING SYMPOSIUM 13.04.2016

Last year on March 31st, we held the 1st Mathematics Symposium for Students in line with the theme “Mathematics and Life”. This year, the 2nd Mathematics Symposium for Students was carried out successfully with the participation of Grade 7 students. The main purpose of the event is to propose students a fun point of view towards mathematics, and let them reflect on their mathematical knowledge and skills. The activities provided students with an opportunity to work collaboratively through socialising in an environment where they can use their mathematical skills. The students discovered how important and beneficial mathematics is in their daily lives, and how fun it can be at the same time. Throughout the symposium, students handled daily life situations from a mathematical perspective, and showed their performances in modelling while working in groups.
