HISTORY, NATURE AND SCIENCE MEET IN SARDES AND KULA 22.11.2024

Our 10th grade students, in collaboration with the Social Sciences, Turkish Language and Literature and Mathematics departments, took a unique trip from the ancient city of Sardis to the Kula-Salihli UNESCO Global Geopark. In this activity, students explored the history of Sardis, where money was born, and observed the interaction of nature and human beings with the volcanic rocks and fairy chimneys of Kula. With the understanding that “Nature is the Laboratory of Geography”, they also had the opportunity to examine Turkey's youngest volcano Divlit and Kula houses, the architectural heritage of the Ottoman Empire. The trip offered an unforgettable experience by combining history, geography and science.
