GUVEN ISLAMOĞLU WAS AT OUR CAMPUS 21.03.2022

As part of World Water Day, our guest was Güven İslamoğlu.

Güven İslamoğlu, whom we know well with his television programs and environmental documentaries, shared his knowledge and experience with our students in a pleasant conversation. Before the presentation entitled No Water, No Life, İslamoğlu met with Işıkkent Environmates students, saw their composting work on-site and shared their concerns for the future.

Güven İslamoğlu expressed his happiness to be with our students and was also pleased to see what they did about sustainability. In his speech, İslamoğlu said that destroying nature is destroying the future. By what we do, we will not save the world but our future. He emphasized the importance of waste prevention.

In the interview held with the participation of our high school and middle school students, İslamoğlu gave varied information about the water cycle, diminishing natural resources, the wetlands destroyed, the natural balance, the problems in the food chain, the endangerment of biological diversity, energy, etc. Finally, he talked about the solutions.
