GAINING AWARENESS THROUGH LITERATURE DURING CANAKKALE VICTORY AND MARTYRS’ MEMORIAL WEEK 17.03.2023

As part of Canakkale Victory and Martyrs’ Memorial Week, our 4th graders read the book entitled “Özgürlüğe Yelken Açan Bulutlar” (“Clouds That Set Sail Towards Freedom”) and met its author Sultan Topçu. They discussed how students from different parts of the country participate in the ceremony for March 18th and experience the same feelings under different conditions. Also, they developed thinking skills by sharing their opinions about empathy, seeking power in ourselves, the variability of time perception, and the value of peace. After creating their own clouds with their favorite messages from the book, they wrote their own sentences to make room for their own freedom.
