ENVIROMATES STARTED COLLABORATING WITH OUR ELC STUDENTS 01.12.2021

Isikkent Social Influencers-EnviroMates, which was created by our MS and HS students to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identified by the UN and take action towards realizing them by 2030, organized a workshop for the ELC 2 and ELC 3 students to raise awareness on protecting nature and the planet we live in .Based on the goals of Responsible Consumption & Production and Climate Action, EnviroMates discussed the generation of waste, plastic pollution, water pollution air pollution, excess energy consumption and excessive use of water resources problems with our ELC students and carried out a fun activity on our responsibilities in preventing such problems and protecting our planet. Our ELC students, who already work actively to collect waste materials and reuse them, shared their experiences with the EnviroMates. Each student drew a picture of his/her responsibility in creating a fair planet, where no one faces injustice.

The next step will be carrying out a “Composting” project, which will include recycling food waste. Upon participating in this project, ELC students will learn how to make compost with the food leftovers throughout the day from the team EnviroMates. This way, our students will take their first steps towards being responsible producers and consumers as well as the youngest nature activists to say “NO” to climate crisis.
