ATATÜRK TOLD BY AHMET GÜREL 02.11.2016

On November 2nd, Ahmet Gürel, the manager of İzmir Türk Koleji Uşakizade Mansion, attended the event organised by the Social Sciences Department as a guest speaker. After introducing himself to the audience, Mr. Gürel told that he owns the most extensive photograph archive of Atatürk in Turkey and wrote 12 books including “Atatürk Aramızda”. Then, he talked about the national struggles in İzmir, the Uşakizade Mansion that hosted Atatürk for 91 days, the marriage of Atatürk & Latife Hanım, and the establishment of modern Republic of Turkey. He ended his speech by sharing an episode from the Atatürk Documentary that he shooted.
