ANIMAL FARM PROJECTS PRESENTED ONLINE 09.06.2021

Grade 7 students completed their interdisciplinary project entitled “Creating Our Own Country”, which they built with inspiration from George Orwell's “Animal Farm”. The aim of this project was to research the need for and importance of values and components that make up a country by considering the three disciplines of the MYP (Language and Literature, Visual Arts, Technology and Design). While working on this project to create their own country, our students carried out a systematic research based on the guidelines for all disciplines, used their presentation skills, developed specific ATL skills such as research skills, worked on various data and suggestions and improved their interpretation skills. Also, this project helped them improve their self-management skills, organize their knowledge and transfer it to the construction of the model. Besides, they understood why collaboration and planning are important in creating a country. While presenting their project through different media, they developed communication skills as well. As part of this “Act of Service”, Grade 7 students virtually presented their projects to Grade 6 students and were assessed based on different categories. Thanks to the positive feedback they received, our students had a valuable experience during these tough COVID times.
